Why Hire a Postpartum Doula?Having a baby can be exhilarating, but it can also be stressful and overwhelming. Birthing my son 21 years ago was the most empowering experience of my life. Soon after our birth I felt isolated, overwhelmed and exhausted. I know now these feelings can be quite common.
Getting proper support navigating your way into parenthood (or managing your expanding family), will help ensure a smooth transition. Doulas are non-medical specialized companion care providers. My mission as a postpartum doula is to N.E.S.T new moms; Nurture, Empower, Support and Teach. |
Who Is Doula TA?I am an all-in parenting advocate and coach delivering specialized expert care and training. I’ve had a fulfilling 25+ year career as a professional educator focused on family wellness.
Years ago, I had the privilege of going to Peru and speaking with dozens of new moms on the benefit of pre and post-natal nutrition and breastfeeding. This experience deepened my commitment to support & empower new moms in their pursuit to raise healthy children. I believe nurturing strong moms, healthy families and caring communities brings us all into a more life-affirming world. Being an intimate, caring, aid to you in your fourth trimester (the 12 weeks following the birth), is an honor and privilege I take to heart. |

What People Say about My Doula TA
TerriAnne was a lifesaver. Her presence evokes immediate calm and reassurance. She was so patient with my baby and helpful in understanding the needs of an infant. I always felt more rested, confident, and clear-headed after a day with TA.
~Sarah L.
After the first week of having TA in our home, it was hard to recall a time that she wasn’t part of our family!
~Kate T.
TA came into our lives when my husband and I were shells of humans. The support she brought into our home was priceless. Her calm and gentle demeanor towards our son made my mama heart so happy, and put all my worries at ease.
~Meg S
TerriAnne has a gift! She helped us thrive through our 2nd child’s newborn journey. She taught us new tips on how to care for our baby and help him learn to self soothe, and she helped us create the right home environment (and sleep!), for our toddler, as well. Her knowledge and passion caring for babies shines through.
~Theresa P.
TA went above and beyond! I asked her to help coach my mom on caring for our newborn daughter. She spent hours with mom to ensure we felt comfortable, and quickly implemented a strategic plan to ensure its success.
~Drew G.
Terri Anne took time to understand us before our daughter’s birth. She measured our style and helped us through the first few months of our baby’s life. TA’s curiosity, compassion, respect, consistency, and punctuality where exactly what we needed from a doula, and she was an incredible source of knowledge!
~Michelle P.
I was sick with a cold, recovering from cesarian birth, and my husband had to leave on a business trip. TA took the BEST care of me and my baby! She’s got a very positive attitude and encouragement which was so reassuring and really built my confidence as a first-time mom.
~Megan S.
So much change occurs to an entire family with the birth of a new child. We are very blessed to have Terri Anne’s love and care to bring calm and peace into our household.

TIPS for New Moms
Sleep when Baby Sleeps
Despite hearing this from everyone, you may be tempted to catch up on laundry, food prep, or picking up around the house while baby naps. But your sleep is critical – especially in the first several weeks while recovering from birth. Let ME do those tasks for you while you get that much-needed R&R. |
Keep the Water Flowing
(but not overflowing!) Hydration is critical when nursing. Keep a Camelback or other pouch type water container in your bed so you will always have access to water, and no worries about spilling!
